Those who are truly worried about the price of health care services in the US, should ask themselves "Why are those services so expensive in the first place?" instead of trying to come up with ways to spread the current costs over as many people as possible.
Until a certain moment in the second half of the 1800s, the US had the highest number of doctors per capita of any country in the world. There were numerous medical schools and you did not have to put yourself into debt for the rest of your life in order to be able to attend them. (Yet, these schools still managed to make a profit.)
