I found it odd that he would warn police of his booby trapped apartment. That part doesn't make sense at all. If he went all out to booby trap his place to kill police, why warn them?
Then again, they are not inside yet. It's possible their disarming may in fact cause something else to blow up. Or all the explosives are fake and he's just fucking with them. Anything is possible at this point.
