Whatever if he got it for the undergraduate from his "well-to-do" parents the first time, maybe he got a student loan for his PhD? He was apparently very gifted.

However he recently stopped his new program for "unknown reasons" and basically quit school...

Wouldn't it be logical to think he used his student loan money to arm himself?
