The attempted detention occurred fist. It is very clear that the cop intentionally stepped in front of the vehicle.

I'm completely willing to defend myself right up to taking a persons life if need be. It makes no difference to me what costume they are dressed in.
I have no respect for the revenue collection aspects of their job, but I also have no specific animosity towards any of the police I have encountered in real life.
