A few I'm guessing are Brad Mitchell, Kacy (think that's how it's spelled and not sure how much she owns of certified/naked hosting) I know have to be millionaires.
I can't recall his screen handle but the guy with the white lambo and girl in thong on the front (from wisconsin).
Of course some of the CCbill people (hundreds of millions, and maybe one of the few billionaires).
The thing the internet has done is bridged people of all walks almost instantly. It used to be if you didn't play the right cards all the way down the line you were fucked, not anymore.

I personally don't have a lot, take care of myself and a little more. I've got an uncle that runs a machine shop that makes very high precision parts who has a networth of about $10-15 million (made a killing on the recent stock market rebound), funny thing he is still tighter than hell and a dickwad on many matters (like an answering machine that works sometimes, not really sure yet won't invest in a working one). An uncle that's a jew (not blood) that has a few million, lost a lot in the economic collapse.
My dad has a networth of about 1.5-2 million but he's over 60 (not very good actually). He's looking to me as an investment.

Yes, money matters. Money buys things, makes things happen, buys things that make others like you and want to be around you.
You can argue that character and other items matter, which they do, but at the end of the day there is much disdain for anyone who can't provide for themselves or have much to show for.
This is just the way things are.

I personally aspire to a networth somewhere in the $2-5 million range in the next 10 years, an attainable goal. I've got the intelligence but for lack of a routine and structure it's no good. Also through my late teens and early 20's I had some severe head trauma that induced severe mood swings and many other problems. Always wear a helmet and avoid sports that have high potential for head trauma
