Its not the competition, its the fact that people just oversubscribe their networks to become "competitive" and ends up becoming a really craptastic service and pisses off consumers making them cautious of the next company they look at.
I welcome competition, in-fact I welcome people to use competitors that don't have the financial strength to back offerings like this when they bring in people who will consume the network. You know how many companies I have seen try to pull this off and fail? A lot.
While i'm ranting and digging into this. Their IP space goes back to the uk2 group, who which owns 100tb.. who which.. just opened up a salt lake city UT datacenter. Surprised surprised.. Colo? or reselling 100tb.. whhite label company Hosting Services, Inc.? You decide.
Never trust a company unless they are operating their own network with their own IP space.
