I guess I am a bit thick, but I fail to understand why a uniform would offend or upset anyone in this context.
Do any other tyes of uniforms offend?
Would a british army uniform offend as during bloody sunday they murdered civilians.
How about a police uniform as some police have killed people.
Its not the uniforms that commited the offence its those who wore it that did the offence.
