One thing I did get from the Panorama documentary, is how fine the line is between management-speak and outright bullshit.
Perhaps many "media lies" are not the stuff of conspiracy theory, but simply the result of a managerial culture having to constantly shift and fudge. Somebody like George Entwistle (Director General) probably thinks he's a good man and doesn't realise how out of touch with the truth he is, because it's so embedded into the culture of his workplace.
