actually you got the same display panel, which is basically the same pixel board, nothing else.
You can buy all sorts of parts used to build Apple products, it doesn't mean you have the "same product"
Don't worry Franck, if you save up someday you'll be able to enjoy the finer things in life as well.
That said, the Apple screen is a rip off for sure though, I'd never buy that shit.
The imac was a bargain though.
Anyway, the reason I enjoy my mac is I really have ZERO desire to upgrade, or fuss around with anything, and I don't mind paying a premium for that service, Apple knows this and charges accordingly.
I don't see how that makes them evil, they offer a luxury product, at a premium and seems to me that they're not having any difficulty selling their product.
Sure, it's just a PC inside, just like a lexus is just a toyota.
Toyota makes many cars that go faster, or that are more "upgradable" than a lexus, but they understand that some people simply don't care, and just want a nice comfy car to drive and will pay a premium for essentially the same product with a nicer experience attached.
I'm happy sitting infront of this 20 hours a day, and was more than happy to shell out for it.
and once an upgrade comes along that's worth the upgrade, I'll gladly sell this for 70% of what I paid for it and do it all over again.
