I resist the term "prepper" because it's made-for-TV. Being prepared for a storm doesn't mean you are someone sitting on a pile of 5 gallon buckets full of food on guard with a shotgun. (but that's how "preppers" sounds). And if you're not a "prepper" it doesn't mean you're sitting there whining like a baby for government to save you.
It seems the discussion just naturally goes to two extremes ignoring the vast gulf of common sense in between. Just use your head and help someone if you can and ask for help if you need it.
