That is great to hear. I know you and I have our differences, but seriously the NRA is a terrible organization.
They could have gained a little respect by acknowledging the latest shootings, admitted that the second amendment is out of date and needs to be modernized, etc.
I don't own a gun and never will, but I fully respect the rights to anyone to own guns. This isn't the problem.
The problem is that the NRA uses fear to drive people into a frenzy to buy more and more guns, more powerful guns, and more ammunition. They push for laws which many outsides like myself consider insane.
Yes, the core of the NRA was to promote responsible gun ownership. This core, healthy belief though was lost a long time ago. They have failed at their jobs, and the current head of the NRA, is a total embarrassment not just to the NRA, but to Americans in general. The speech (not a press conference) he gave today was one of the worst things I had ever heard. How anyone could remain a member after that is beyond me.
