I don't own a gun and never will, but I fully respect the rights to anyone to own guns. This isn't the problem.

The problem is that the NRA uses fear to drive people into a frenzy to buy more and more guns, more powerful guns, and more ammunition. They push for laws which many outsides like myself consider insane.

Yes, the core of the NRA was to promote responsible gun ownership. This core, healthy belief though was lost a long time ago. They have failed at their jobs, and the current head of the NRA, is a total embarrassment not just to the NRA, but to Americans in general. The speech (not a press conference) he gave today was one of the worst things I had ever heard. How anyone could remain a member after that is beyond me.
it sounds like you are judging an organization and Americans based on a speech by one person. Charlton Heston, he believed we have rights, he personified the core beliefs of the NRA which is still responsible gun ownership, He also believed in equal rights for everyone and proved that by marching with MLK, this is still something that is passed down from responsible parents to their children, My daughter loved shooting with me at the local range and looked bad ass with a M1 Carbine with a Bayonnette on the end. You getting in here and telling me I should be embarrassed because of something someone said I don't know belonging to a group I have nothing to do with adds nothing to the conversation

For the record, I get more fear reading about what my government is doing over what the NRA is saying

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
