There is no "Try".
And you should aim to quit nicotine instead, otherwise you'll get the gum, patch or ecig, which keep nicotine in your system, making it more difficult to quit.
Plan for 8 days of difficulties. At some points, you may feel like you are going to die... You won't. Just muscle through it and about 8 or 9 days in, you will start to feel better. You aren't out of the woods though, you just will start to be able to deal with the cravings. Don't slip. Keep it up. About a month in, things will start getting even easier and by month 3 or 4, you're almost in the clear.
