I can't argue with that. Also, if we brought back conscription, that would help. And maybe if we insisted the war/invasion/occupation be paid for with a "war tax" on every paycheck, and tacked a war tax on to every retail sale, then the electorate may be less apathetic to the horror of war.

None of that shit is likely to happen, though.

It's always amazed me that the ones who were frothing at the mouth for war during the Dubya years are the ones bellyaching about debt and taxes now.

We're not rational creatures.
