See the problem with the Internet is it empowers the asshole. For my business I went in the opposite direction and actively enforced a no Internet precense rule. (Yes I know it goes against everything everyone says must be done. ** Before anyone asks, I must state that I am on this forum because of a file locker piracy problem I had.** )

It had become obvious that there was problems on the horizon and I needed to develop solutions. Rumeurs had started about giving away porn for free and piracy has always been a problem in this industry; looking at the music industry I knew it would get worst.

So I discontinued my english products and dropped distribution to the United States. I then focused on more direct business to client interaction. I sponsored events with long time buyers and recruited a handful of them for several focus groups. Of course I had my sales data but I wanted to know which girl, video, etc. that they liked and why? Also what else could I do to enhance their desire for my product.

Obviously the focus group was some hardcore single male punters. (Married men and those seeking discretion had no interest in either the event or even showing their faces. )But I learned not only what makes them buy but also what makes them pirate.

Bref if I write more I will be giving out too much information.
So I will just say we agree. Regardless of medium choosen to distribute, the smart pornographer needs to build a mental relationship with their buyers.
