Finally! A worthy biz thread with some good insight.
One thought - I've known a few of our loyal niche fetish subscribers who after a few years of constant renewing - contacted us to say their niche interests had changed (or evolved) and they were moving on to the next thing that turns their crank. They'd "outgrown" our production (i.e. - went from viewing BDSM to strictly foot fetish, or shiny/latex/rubber costumes only, let's say).
In which case, unless we made a shift in production to accomodate their evolving interest, we'd have no choice but to lose that particular paying customer.
Perhaps the 'evolving customer' would compromise its own category, IMO.
