People are stupid.
At the close of WWII, hundreds of thousands of soldiers and military personnel needed to be detained and debriefed. Millions more needed both shelter, clothing, and food. The United States military - and other military forces - provided what was needed. They called them "displaced persons camps" and more recently they are called refugee camps.
Does anyone honestly believe the US Military doesn't plan for such things?
