Small businesses aren't the only ones getting the shock; Everyone is. I have a friend of mind who is a state employee for the past twenty years, and every year she makes less and less money because her raises aren't half of the health care costs increase. It's fucking shameful.
To top it off, it's not the doctors making bank. My wife runs a small doctor's office, and the doctor is making less than she is - and that's not much.
It's the HMOs themselves. They know they can raise prices by staggering amounts, and they do. The only way to control this is to have the government step in and bitch smack the healthcare industry hard.
