4 June: the end of the Dunkirk evacuation, 1940
5 June: the start of 6 Day war, 1967
6 June: D-Day, 1944
7 June: the end of the Battle of Midway, 1942
8 June: an attack killing 56 British soldiers (20% of the total killed) in the Falklands War, 1982
