How could it possibly make things worse? Most people who post excessively for say content are not going to post in a domain forum as they know no one is looking for content in there. If they do they may be subject to mod action or if no mods bother to monitor it then at least their reputation among the readers of that forum, who may one day want to buy content, would be decreased.
Excessive posting aside, sub forums are also better in cases when a single forum is overrun with posts for multiple categories as it is now. If you posted something today that is not offered very often it would get cycled off the first page before the end of the day, if it had been posted in a forum for related products that are not posted very often, it might stay on the front page of that forum for weeks - good for buyers and sellers.
