You are correct sir... that was a CGI arni.
And I for one am looking forward to seeing Arni back in the next Terminator movie. And you can bet that the writers of the next movie(s) will take his age into account. They may reveal him to be a scientist that the original was based on for example (like they did in the short film that accompanied the last feature on DVD).
