The problem with auto white balance is that within a set of a hundred shots (a set), the color may fluctuate from warm to cool depending on where you aim the lens. By locking the white balance in or using the method that I described above, you're whole set of pics will be the same temp. Same with auto exposure. On auto exposure, you're pics may be lighter or darker depending on where you point the camera so for shooting a set of pics where you want consistency in exposure, it's always good to lock in the exposure instead of using auto. You may know this already but wanted to mention in case someone else may not
