I've done a lot more City vacations in the last 3 years than beach just due to our location. I do prefer beach holidays simply because I tend to go for longer than I would in a city. I only do long weekends on a City holiday, that is enough time to get in and see a bunch of cool things, have a few nice meals and hit some nice bars then get back home. Anytime I do a beach vacation it is minimum 1 week, mostly 2 weeks. There is always plenty to do regardless of where I go so really it doesn't matter but, I do like to be nice and chilled on a longer holiday, I'd hate to be running around a major City for a week, that is tiring.
