How familiar are you with the LGBT movement in Russia?
I ask because if you really think that their activists don't have a big problem with the treatment of gay and lesbians citizens of that country then I'm guessing it isn't a topic you follow much.
I'm not even really sure in my own head how I feel about an Olympic boycott. The Russians would be idiots to arrest athletes for anything to do with being gay but, then again, it is Russia so who knows what will happen.
However, to say that the gay activists in Russia don't have as big a problem with the laws is really rather ridiculous. You might not be hearing from them but that is because they are in jail or have been beaten to the point of either not talking or being afraid to in public.
