If Syria attacks Turkey in any way (which is likely as Assad would want to escalate it into something much bigger) then as a member of NATO the UK would have to consider it an attack on us and we'd get dragged in by default anyway. Whilst I support Camerons political party I've come to realise that the guy is a really bad politician. He wanted to win this vote and only lost by 13, 30 of his own party voted against and a load of others didn't even bother to turn up. He rushed it through with very little forethought, just like his knee jerk antiporn bullshit, his inability to win an overall majority at the last general election. There's a pattern of glossy presentational announcements with no REAL thinking involved and Cameron trusting that he can charm his way to victory. Having said that the people of Syria can ultimately thank Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell for the UK not willing to assist.
