I did not notice this the first read. This really illustrates what I call the "boy who cried wolf syndrome" -- the WMD claim against Iran was a non-existent bogeyman.
Could Saddam have transferred those weapons to Syria along with the still not recovered SCUD missiles and their launchers as the rumour went or were the weapons actually destroyed or buried in the sands in the western Iraqi dessert? Chemical weapons did exist in Iraq -- Halabja is not a myth.

I don't think they are landing troops with one landing ship looks to me more like they are preparing for an evacuation in the worst scenario. Putin may have got "spooked" at the G-20 meeting -- actions speak louder than words always.
