actually I looked it up, Mintes people would be eligible for tax credits if they make $12 an hr.

I looked up one person making $12 an hr
Household income in 2014:209% of poverty level
Unsubsidized annual health insurance premium in 2014:$3,018
Maximum % of income you have to pay for the non-tobacco premium, if eligible for a subsidy:6.61%
Amount you pay for the premium:$1,587 per year
(which equals 6.61% of your household income and covers 53% of the overall premium) You could receive a government tax credit subsidy of up to:$1,432
(which covers 47% of the overall premium)

Now you add a wife and a couple of kids and it goes down to paying close to nothing.
