I have known many people that have had huge medical bills...hundreds of thousands of dollars...that did not have insurance...none of them lost their homes...or anything else. Most of them paid at the bill what theY felt they could afford and not necessarily what the hospital or doctors wanted to be paid with out any legal problems. A few that...didn't pay at the bill...had a lien put on their house. So I think that people losing their homes because of medical bills is pretty much pigshit.
