Oh GOD OH GOD don't get me started on what's wrong with most of today's porn.
Here's a short list:
-- All the 'hack-thewy' spitting -- What was perfectly suited to being a micro-niche of it's own has spread to seemingly half or more of all porn productions of all stripes, from vanilla sex to bondage shoots and everything in between. Enough with the spitting already, you bunch of ditch-dwelling piglets. Figure out how to gob up someone's junk without this crap, it's a major turnoff.
-- Idiot guys talking -- Either the talent or the guy behind the camera. Just shut up already. When it's the talent it's usually the guy that can't shut up with the "oh yea baby do it like that, yess, yessss, oh keep going, yesss, you little cun..." well you get the idea. Or the idiot camera guy who thinks the shot needs his moronic play-by-play and stupid comments like "Does that feel good?"
-- Stock positions and all the pandering to the camera -- Just about every damn clip has the 'actors' in the same stock positions poised for the benefit of the camera view. Who fucks like that? No one. Better to let them go at it and it's up to the dumb shit working the camera to get the right shots and angles. Experienced shooters of the amateur niche know this, and it makes for great scenes that don't look so generic and stock.
-- Robotic sex, no chemistry-- goes with above. I've seen and otherwise reviewed so many scenes that look the same as the rest I lost count years ago, and shooters are still cranking the same crap out over and over with actors that seem to have zero chemistry and are just there to go through the same motions with each other and get paid.
-- Stupid music --- you'd think this tactic would have died off by the end of the 80's, but there are still so many clueless producers out there who think it's still a good idea. Please stop it. All it takes is one long look at the comments on any of the major tube sites below the thousands of vids to see that the majority of people think the music is distracting and stupid.
-- Bad sound -- Really? With today's sound equipment, wireless mics, boom mics, etc, yet so many are still relying on the annoying and mostly useless camera mic. Makes for widely varying sound levels throughout your productions, having the sound at one level while shooting from 5 feet away, and then it goes way wayyy up when you close in on the girl while she's moaning and it comes booming out of everyone's speakers. At other times you can barely hear what they're saying (if that's important to you). Bottom line is it's annoying, and it's fixable, and not for an unreasonable price either. No excuse on this.
-- Bad lighting, poor vid quality -- Do I really need to elaborate? This too has no excuse for it. It's not that hard to side-light shots, bounce it off the ceiling, make use of natural light from windows, and whenever called for try turning on the light on your vidcam (you know, for those low down between the legs deep in the crotch zone shots).
Oh there's more, but I did say 'short list', right?
