That could always happen. Kids are going to be their own person a lot of the time, and if that person is a slacker -- it doesn't matter how they were brought up. But, it doesn't mean every kid shouldn't get a good head start. Not that you were saying that.

There's also kids who could come from the worst situation, and make something of their life. But all the more better if they have great schooling even before they officially get to school. Government helping adults is one thing, but every taxpayer should be happy to make sure little kids get a good start in education because it'll be good for all of us from every angle...crime rate, economy, innovation, etc. It's funny how our elected leaders don't see it as the number one priority in making the country better. It's probably more like number 20 on the list of things important to them, behind drilling for oil, or keeping the industrial war complex running.
