I consider NASCAR drivers and "pro" race car drivers as drug addicts. They are addicted to the adrenaline rush of driving fast and facing death on a regular basis. They are the same, in my mind, as bungee jumpers, sky divers, mountain climbers and anyone who gets off on their own chemicals inside their own brains which can only be released under high stress or life-threatening situations.
Therefore: I have absolutely ZERO empathy or sympathy for one of these drug addicts when something goes wrong and they die from their own addictions. The fact that these drug addict/drivers cannot STOP racing even when they are not racing (they have it 'in their blood', proving my points) makes them sad in my eyes. The fact that they profit from their addictions (which also puts other drug addicts at risk) and the fact that businesses have monetized this addiction (ads on cars etc) does not make this 'activity' a 'sport'. Seek help Tony (and every other NASCAR driver).
PS: here's a fucking idea dude. DON'T WALK ON THE FUCKING TRACK. Splat!
