The business fails to see how this could increase overhead.
Employees putting more on your order in an effort to get a larger tip.
Processing the increased amount of debit/credit payment by including tips.
Increased accounting costs to properly account and tax tips.
I am sure there are other things to consider as well.
And like was already said all of this is an effort to maintain a lower wage for the actual revenue earners of the corporation while maintaining a massive profit margin.
