I don't quite understand this thread. As already mentioned, we have a limited amount of holidays/vacations. People working on Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's are usually in the retail industry or food service. Food service is pretty limited, most places are closed on those holidays. Gas stations are often hard to find. The people working will be places like Target, Walmart, Toys "R" Us, etc.

I'll be working on Thanksgiving morning, because I want to. In the afternoon I'll be eating turkey and pie, because I want to. In the evening I'll have some more turkey and pie, again, because I want to. When I get home I'll check my messages and see if I need to handle anything for my European friends, because I want to.
