The US acting as "World Police" is not a long history, matter of fact it is a very short one, for the vast majority of the life of this country we were staunch isolationists. That policy lasted up to WWII and even then many thought we should stay out of it.
From there to now corporate influence has had far more to do with our role on the world stage than anything else.
Kill all the fucking lobbyists would be a good start to fixing things in this country.
