However maybe the officer made a bad decision and covered up his actions by claiming the guy reached for his gun.
Sadly, police breaking the law happens so often that we can't really trust them in this day an age. The only solution i see is to make all cops wear body cameras. The technology is there so there isn't really an excuse.

Agreed.
Just because people want oversight/accountability on the police does not mean people hate the police.
For example, we have meat/food inspectors in this country. Does that mean people hate butchers? We also have building inspectors in this country. Does that mean people hate construction workers? Of course not. Same should apply to the police.
