Thanks Global Warming!

This past Sunday looked to be a nice day here so I decided to make a run up PCH to the Carmel area.

I did it in my shirt sleeves, didn't even need a jacket... 75F in January! If this is Global Warming I'll take more of it!

The surf was really high so you get some mist along the shore, I tasted salt more than once.

The Big Creek Bridge, it's a pretty unique structure being it's free-standing, it's not attached to the sides of the gorge in any way, it uses a slip-joint at each end to connect the roadway.

A (hopefully) permanent solution to the problem of The Devil's Slide, although it does take some of the fun out of the trip when you don't have to dodge falling boulders anymore.

Point Sur Lighthouse just north of Big Sur, I could live there.

The Bixby Bridge a few miles south of Carmel Highlands, built around 1932, one of my favorite old bridges.

All in all it was a near perfect day to take a ride, it was warm, I saw a bunch of whale spouts as I was riding along, the beaches between San Simeon and the Piedras Blancas lighthouse were covered with Elephant Seals.
I passed so many other bikes it was nearly impossible to get my left hand on the grip long enough to use my clutch and change gears

BTW this really has nothing to do with Global Warming, warm perfect days like that have been happening in the wintertime along the California coast for as long as anybody can remember. But the term "Global Warming" is such a dog-whistle for some gfy members that I really just couldn't resist.

You can blame any lectures and harangues on me
