For example western company sold and built powerplant for one African country. That particular country took loan for that through IMF. Great, but that plant never worked, no compensation for not-working powerplant, loan stayed, and now IMF uses that loan as a leverage to boost western interests in that country. Not past colonialism; modern day.
And what about the food? Africans starve and at the same time western and also in growing number Chinese companies export food from Africa. All in the name of capitalism and free trade. Except that no western country would favour free trade if its own citizens would be starving because of that. But IMF and fellow organizations and western countries require African countries to do so.
