Here are a few things to consider:
1) he's done this before and got called out on it quickly because his story was equally weak and flawed
2) he's begged for money before with equally weak and stupid stories
3) he's ALWAYS got a sad story to tell. he likes to let people know he's in a wheelchair and shoots for maximum pity and plays on peoples sympathies (a defining characteristic of a sociopath)
4) as soon as he was questioned on this story, he deleted the gofundme campaign. strange right? a vague, unspecific campaign to ease a dying persons final days and he suddenly deletes it and grabs the money and basically takes a 48 hr break
5) he is offered 1000.00 to provide proof of this person's existence and that she has stage 4 whatever
6) proving this is very simple. bear in mind that the volume of medical paperwork would be huge at this point, there would be a wide range of prescription meds, specific to that type of cancer, pain etc. All it takes is verification of ANY paperwork, tests, meds and so on.
7) some digging suggests this person is not being forthright about being in a relationship, much less a relationship with dying woman
8) cornered, he himself says he will post incontrovertible proof of his stories accuracy.... in which case, i would be quite happy to paypal him 250.00.
9) he goes MIA
10) his "proof" is essentially two linked facebook accounts, where his "mother" makes a vague post about "my sons girlfriends cancer" - a post which was made AFTER the fact. AFTER he said he'd provide proof
11) he then, for obvious reasons attempts to pre-empt the obvious challenges by also staring "this is the ONLY proof i will give" as he has no bills, no medical records, no tests, no pics of a helpless woman getting chemo or laying in a hospital bed or whatever.
12) now, after his little bit of ill conceived theater and stealing 400+ USD - he is, as would be expected acting indignant and offended as if he is the true victim.... and saying he can't really offer proof because his imagined girlfriend won;t let him post docs with info blurred, pics of meds etc with identifying info removed.
