I've never understood people who think asking on a message board at 1am if heartburn is an old man's disease amongst a group of people, a few of whom I know to be around my age group, is like asking for actual medical advice. You think I've been in agony all this time, not knowing what to do about it, worrying myself silly, and finally plucked up the courage to ask for actual medical advice on here?

Like I'm asking because I'm in pain rather than what I said earlier when I posted "I kinda assumed it was just an age thing, like hairs in the nostrils, but have it tonight and it popped in my head to ask here, as it was quicker than googling 'what is heartburn'."?

Does that sound like a person in dire need of medical help? Or does it sound like someone who maybe posted in between running tasks?

And that's without even getting on to the fact that there's literally zero harm from asking about heartburn to see if anyone else has it, as opposed to asking how I can cure my leukemia. How about if I get a cold, am I ok to ask for 'medical advice' on here about that, or should I rush my ass off to a fucking doctor?
