Cool story and all but ultimately no more than a silly tale of misdirected anger as in order for it to be justified you would have to determine AT LEAST the following. And I say 'at least' because while there may be additional metrics, I don't want to have to waste another second thinking about it.
* % of 18 y/o legitimately devout Christians during peak earning time frame Vs. % of 18 y/o legitimately devout Christians in the current time frame
* % of adult Born-Again Christians during your peak earning time frame Vs. % of adult Born-Again Christians in the current time frame
It's hard to say for certain whether or not either % has increased, but my guess would be that both have remained somewhat stagnant and this have had zero-to-little impact on sales.
