When i was first introduced to the online adult porn industry I would try doing business with others and find their pages always had email and/or "icq", at first I had no idea wtf that was (this was wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in late 90's or early 2000). So eventually I decided to comply and get my own ICQ.
It still seems to be used widely with us adult webmasters, but tbh most of my biz is now done through Skype (more than ICQ) nowadays.
