As a veteran of Army service in Germany during the Cold War - I was stationed at Freedom's Frontier from 1979 to 1982 - I just cannot understand any important reason why the United States and Russia cannot be allies today. All of the ideological reasons for antagonism are gone. With their combined force working together, the world could be transformed in incredible ways for the good and for the peace and security of the world. We did it once before in the war against Fascism and we should do it again, with a free Russia. On these pages, there is endless speculation about World War III and a nuclear exchange between Russia and the US. Can anyone think of one honorable, arguable, decent reason why there should or must be any kind of hostility?
