I'm not saying it could be just the first in a long line of terrorist cells in the USA, but it could just as easily be a fluke.
We have many other things killing our citizens besides jihadists, but it looks like that's all Republicans want to focus on because fear is their business.

What happened in San Bernadino? We seem to be calling this a terrorist attack, but it seems to be a home grown lone wolf kind of thing who was a Muslim. When Timothy McVeigh bombed a building in Oklahoma, no one went around threatening to prevent Christians from entering the country. Timothy McVeigh was in the US Army; Perhaps we should start screening them and denying them passports too.
In this case the threat isn't from outside - Society did nothing to prevent this American citizen from obtaining an assault rifle. And there are hundred of thousands of people just like him who own assault rifles.
