Of course, a mortally wounded ANIMAL with a super primitive brain, felt human emotions such as "comfort" in his dying moments. I'm sure he was really able to do a bit of introspective thinking, ponder his past and come to terms with his demise of which he has no capacity whatsoever to understand or even aware that death exists.
