If you ride around in a cart drinking beer all day, it defo is not a work out. If you walk, it is a great workout.

Average golf course is over 5,000 yards in the shortest distance from green to pin, which means it most likely is actually 15% over that if you consider walking side-ways to your ball, getting from hole to hole, clubhouse to hole, and all the other shit that goes on. Lets say you walk 6,000 yards on your golf game, that is a 5.5km walk carrying your bag that probably weighs anywhere from 25-45lbs. Average hobby golfer will also hit anywhere from 75-110 actual shots, if you are anything like me you will also take 2-3 practice swings before striking the ball which means you perform some 300 shots per round.

All in all, that is a very effective way to burn some good calories while having fun.
