I think that many people voting against Hillary are doing just that, they are voting against her, not for anybody in particular. Bernie Sanders has a lot of anti-establishment support, and so does Trump. Their politics are not similar, but both are seen as "outsiders" to the hated machine right now, so it wouldn't surprise me if more than a few Bernie supporters vote for Trump even if they hate him personally, I think they hate the establishment more and he's done a fair job of distancing himself from it.
