I used to see the "Gay pride" or "proud to be Gay" movement as unnecessary and kind of throwing Gayness in people's faces for no real reason.
As I've gotten older I understand some Gay people have had a shit hard time because of their sexuality and those types band together once a year and say they're "proud" or have "pride" etc.
White pride, Black pride, Irish pride, Gay pride, whatever. Have fun!
