That's not in the Republican playbook. Since Trump will be running against Hillary they will be looking for a woman or a minority to be Trump's running mate. Even better for them if it's a woman of minority.
Nightmare scenario is if he picks Sarah Palin.
We already saw how it play out before when McCain was running against Obama. They picked a female to be his running mate and that didn't work. Since that failed, in round two with Romney they didn't pick a woman or a minority, instead they took the handsome white man approach and that also failed. They'll start the process all over again since they are running against a woman this time.
