I see the bigger picture. They would have fled away and let the security guard with the cost. So in the end they where robbing someone's salary. And than act as victim if someone like the securuty guard protects his (low) income. The guard would probably had to pay it himself if he didn't get the money. I don't see a gun. I think he just said, or you pay me, or i call the police and you have to pay the damage, get a fine and a criminal record and a stamp in your passport that you aren't welcome anymore. I think that works better than a gun.
Or maybe they showed a gun when the sportsmen got angry. Not strange in Brazil where you have to watch out cause everyone can pull a gun also. Better be the fist before it escalates. They just where plain stupid.
