We are in the golden age of television right now. There are more good shows on tv than ever before..

Stranger Things
Mr Robot
House of Cards
Better Call Saul
The Walking Dead
etc etc
I could go on and on. While none of them in your opinion maybe as good as the ones you listed (personally I like them all more than yours except Breaking Bad) Networks are spending more money and time on developing a long running series in hopes to find the next audience as devoted as the Lost or Game of Thrones followers
